CAN program combines features of a commercial gallery, a PR agency, and an art consulting company. It provides many opportunities beyond the scope of a conventional space.
Every member artist is entitled to the following benefits:
Group exhibition
Meetings with major art critics
Advertising
Slideshow
Art consulting
Personal web page
Portfolio promotion
Public Relations
Fellowship Opportunity
Solo Exhibitions
GROUP EXHIBITION
Every member participates in one group exhibition per year. The exhibition and related pomotional campaign includes: listings in the Gallery Guide, printing and mailing of invitations, installation of the exhibition, opening reception, and maintenance of the space. Each artist may show the following number of artworks: five if the size is within 10" x 10" for each artwork; two if they are within 25" x 25" each; or one piece if it is within 50" x 50", including framing. Artworks for all exhibitions are selected by CAN. Artists are responsible for packaging and shipping of the artworks for the exhibition and their return after the exhibition.
ADVERTISING
Each member artist is listed in every issue of the Gallery Guide, a major reference art publication in New York City available in galleries and book stores. It provides wide exposure of artist's name, organization and its website.
SLIDESHOW
Three images of each member artist's works are included in a slideshow projected at our space during regular hours (Tuesday through Saturday, 12-6 PM) and during opening receptions.
MEETINGS WITH ART CRITICS
All member artists are invited to meet with major art critics and curators, participate in their lectures. Online web streams and recordings of most lectures are available on our site. Among our regular contributors are Phyllis Braff (New York Times), Barbara MacAdam (ARTnews), Kim Levin (Village Voice), and Lilly Wei (Art in America).
ART CONSULTING
Member artists are welcome to contact us by phone, e-mail, or in person during regular gallery hours whenever they need consultation regarding any aspect of their work and artistic career.
PERSONAL WEB PAGE
Each member artist has a personal web page on our site featuring three images of their work, their résumé, and an e-mail contact form. Artworks for the personal web page are selected by CAN.
PORTFOLIO PROMOTION
Each member artist can provide additional materials, such as photographs, photocopies, statements, reviews, etc., for a personal portfolio compiled by CAN and available to all visitors.
PUBLIC RELATIONS
CAN maintains an active flow of promotional materials and deals with potential collectors, critics, and curators in conjunction with CAN exhibtions of member artists.
